We make each muzzle to fit the individual horse. This is the only way to ensure a high level of comfort and sufficient freedom of jaw movement while grazing. The muzzle is made to accommodate the customer’s requirements as closely as possible. Interchangeable bases let the horse gradually get used to a muzzle with a larger opening, which the owner can later replace with a base or bases with a smaller grazing opening. The position of the opening can also be adapted to the horse – it is usually slightly below the centre of the base. The base material is flexible and pliable. Unless you state otherwise in the order note, we will make the muzzle with a soft rubber base. If you already know that your horse damages or excessively wears out the base, order a muzzle with a hard base. Although this option is less comfortable for the horse, it has a significantly longer lifespan. However, the choice of opening sizes in a hard base is considerably limited.

For horses that repeatedly remove their muzzles, we can make an extra-deep muzzle. Everything is made according to the wishes of the customer, who knows their horse best.

Padding and sheepskin are not included with the muzzle. You can order them in the section Muzzle padding:

The muzzle is supplied as standard with one softer rubber base. If you want to use a hard plastic base from the outset, please mention this in the order note.

For horses that have never worn a muzzle, we recommend ordering an acclimatisation base with a larger opening.

To make the muzzle, we need you to measure the horse, photograph the measurements and complete the form with information about the horse.

Why do we need measurements and photographs?

We make our muzzles to measure using the dimensions you send us. Your measurements allow us to create a pattern specifically for your horse. Photographs of the measurements help us check whether they were taken correctly.

We also need you to complete the questionnaire about the horse that will wear the muzzle. This important information helps us choose the type of base, the size of the opening and other details.
